| | | Point Lonsdale | | Point Lonsdale is a laid back coastal town, famous for its lighthouse that was built in 1902 to help guide ships through the Heads of the Bay.
The turbulent passage of water, which heads into the bay is known as the 'Rip' is rated as one of the world's most dangerous seaways of the world. The Rip view look-out is one of the vantage points from where you can view freighters and other boating vessels negotiate their way through the Rip.
The Foreshore around the headland is a marine wonderland at low tide, with an array of rock pools and caverns that become natural aquariums - so make sure you bring goggles or snorkels with you to discover these unique underwater worlds.
